We had a lot to accomplish last week, but amazingly, we got it (pretty much) all completed. The only thing that didn’t get completed was the front and back porches/deck, but that isn’t critical path for anything else, so there’s no rush on that stuff…
Basically, last week we passed all our rough inspections, passed our air duct leakage test, passed our framing inspection, got our insulation installed and passed our insulation inspection. We were scheduled to start sheetrock installation today, but the sheetrock crew showed up on Saturday and got started a couple days early. Not only that, but they got about 75% of the sheetrock hung in one (very long) day!
This week is actually a very simple week in terms of tasks:
- Hang & Start Finishing Sheetrock: All week, the sheetrock crew will be hanging, taping, mudding and sanding sheetrock. I don’t imagine we’ll finish before the end of the week, but I do expect that we’ll get most of the way done and then finish up next week.
It will be nice to get a bit of a break this week, so I can focus on getting some additional bids on things like painting, garage door, stone siding and cabinets.
