Flow Test Results

Last week, I called to have the county schedule and perform a flow test to determine our water pressure at the street — this will determine the equipment necessary to install the required fire sprinkler systems in the new house. Normally, we’d be waiting a month for the results, but there’s a new house being built by an investor down the street, and he already requested a test…the county said that we could piggyback off their results and said they’d forward me the results when they were available.

I received the results this morning. Since I’ve never had to deal with sprinkler systems, I have absolutely no idea how to interpret the results (in terms of what it means for the sprinkler system design/cost), but the request for the test was made by the other investor’s contractor, so I now have the name of the contractor he’s using. Since I’ve never dealt with fire sprinkler contractors, I figured that was as good a place to start as any, and I called the guy and asked for a bid.
