Finding a Utility Contractor

by J Scott on May 13, 2014

I mentioned a couple days ago that we needed to find a water/utility contractor to provide a bid on installing the water meter and basic water line connections. We found the list of approved contractors on the county website and started calling them — unfortunately, most of them focus on larger commercial projects and aren’t interested in a single house.

We were able to find one contractor who is willing to give us a bid, but they’re extremely busy and it could be another week before we actually see the bid, which means it will be at least another week before we can get the bid and put down the deposit. And that means at least another week until we can submit for Building Permits.

If we’re ready to submit for permits before we get this, I’ll try to talk the permit office into accepting our application, but I’m not confident they’ll go for it…
