Week 6 Schedule

by J Scott on July 21, 2014

We finished the foundation last week (other than the front porch). Assuming the weather cooperates, we’re scheduled to have a really busy week this week…

Here is what we’re looking like in terms of schedule for this week:

  1. Foundation Location: On Monday, our surveyors will be back to verify that the foundation was built in the correct location and doesn’t sit over the setback lines. We’ll need this verification as part of our framing approval from the county.
  2. Tree Trimming: On Monday, we have a tree company coming out to limb up some trees that have been in the way. We have a big oak that sits next to the driveway and garage and I’m concerned that it will impede the framing when they need to bring in a crane to get the roof trusses on.
  3. Deliver Lumber & Wall Panels: On Monday, the framing company is scheduled to deliver the framing lumber, the first-floor floor joists and the wall panels.
  4. Start Framing: On Tuesday, the framing company will start the framing. I’m hoping that by the end of the week, we have the steel installed, the main level floor joists and some of the additional interior and/or exterior wall panels (I have no idea what order they’ll be framing).
  5. Install Water Meter: On Wednesday, our utility company will be here to install the new water meter.
  6. Install Water & Sewer Lines: Towards the end of the week, our plumber will be here to install the water and sewer lines from the street to the house.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we’ll make up some time lost the past week or two…
