As part of the foundation work, it’s always smart to get the soil pre-treated for termites. This involves spraying the entire area beneath the slab foundation with a termite-killing chemicals. The company I’ll be using for this work is a local pest/termite company called Annihilators Inc. of Maryland. They’ll come out just prior to the slab being poured to spray the foundation area.
The cost of termite pre-treatment is directly related to the square footage of the area being treated (that determines the number of gallons of chemical they need). In our case, the cost of pre-treatment will be about $450.
This won’t alleviate the need for termite prevention once the house is built, but should provide much of the protection we’ll need for the foreseeable future.
