We were expecting the Grading Permit to take about 2 weeks to get approved and issued, but it got done in just a little over a week. I received the following email the other day:

This email is confirmation that your grading permit #G14000152 located at 5148 BONNIE ACRES DR , ELLICOTT CITY, MD 21043 has been issued by the Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits of Howard County.

There is no physical permit to pick up — the approved permit has been transferred over to the Sediment Control department, and before we can start any grading work, we’ll need to get the sediment control inspector out to the property to discuss the ground rules (pun intended)… 🙂

At this point, all we’re waiting for in order to get started on demo/construction is the Building Permit. We submitted it last Wednesday, and as of this morning, it’s still not showing up in the system as having been submitted. They said it would take a couple days to get assigned to a reviewer…hopefully the review will be quick once it’s assigned.
