Can you even believe it? We’re completely dried in! A LOT happened on Monday – the new water meter was installed, Builders First Source dropped off the stairs, and Jerry’s Roofing and Siding not only started, but 100% entirely COMPLETED the roof in one day, on the main part of the house, the garage, the back porch and finally, the front porch. And it’s GORGEOUS! Love this roof, so glad Jerry pulled it out of his bag of tricks to show us :o)
Tuesday morning, Builders First Source finished up all the little last components of framing and installed the stairs. With that complete, the County Inspector gave us a thumbs-up on our framing inspection. That prompted a green light on wrapping the house, so the crew wasted no time. By late Tuesday, the house was wrapped and window installation began. Wednesday, all the exterior doors and our super-swanky craftsman-style windows were completely installed. (With all the transoms, side lights, and surprisingly ginormous windows throughout, the light coming into the house is fantastic, by the way!)
Now we’re not only protected from the elements outside; inside, we can actually walk through the house and stand in the kitchen, the laundry room, the kids’ bedrooms… you name it, it’s there — and it’s massive amounts of exciting.
