Electrical & Mechanicals – Pics

by J Scott on August 12, 2014

It’s been a crazy week at the house. We’ve had the plumbers, electricians, HVAC guys and sprinkler guys all working around each other (it was better planned than that, but things never work out the way you expect). Today, we had some torrential storms, and about a dozen guys were stuck in the house for about 10 hours working on top of each other. But, the good news is that we’re nearing completion on all of our electrical and mechanical work.

We’re hopeful that by the end of the week, we’ll have passed our plumbing rough-in, electrical rough-in, HVAC rough-in and sprinkler rough-in inspections. Here are some pictures of the mechanical work…

The orange are the sprinkler lines:

Decided to go with both a tank and a tankless water heaters for redundancy (electric tankless don’t work as well as gas tankless):

J, why are they using PVC supply lines vs pex? Is that just a local convention?

Hey Mike,

Pretty much up to the contractor. Personally, I still prefer PVC over Pex, just because Pex is a relatively new technology. I’m not overly concerned about the Pex material, I’m more concerned about the fittings/connectors — they’ve been around 10 years, but I’ll be more comfortable in another 10… 🙂
